A: Only D-4 (general training), D-2 (college student) and H-1 (tourist work) visa holders are permitted to work part-time in Korea.
Students may study without a visa for up to 90 days but may not work without a visa.
Foreign students are required to obtain a "Permit to Engage in Activity other than that Permitted" under the Status of Residence in order to work part-time.
The "Permit to Engage in Activity other than that Permitted" under the Status of Residence can be applied for at the Korean Immigration Office. With the permit, students can work up to 20 hours on weekdays and unlimited hours on weekends and during long vacations.
